Description
PandaX is a series of liquid xenon experiments at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. Following the successful operation of PandaX-4T, the collaboration is now advancing toward the next-generation PandaX-20T experiment, with a substantially enlarged target mass and further improvements in detector performance and background control.
PandaX-20T will introduce major upgrades in key detector technologies, including new photomultipliers for cryogenic operation, low-background flexible circuit boards, large-area electrodes and high-voltage systems, and a full-chain electronics and data acquisition system. Large-scale xenon storage, recovery, purification and circulation systems are also being developed, together with krypton and radon distillation, material screening, radon control, and comprehensive background assessment.
With its larger exposure and lower background, PandaX-20T will extend the sensitivity to dark matter interactions and enable a broad rare-event physics program, including solar and astrophysical neutrinos, neutrinoless double-beta decay, and other searches for physics beyond the Standard Model. This talk will present the PandaX-20T upgrade strategy, key technological developments, and its expected physics reach.
