Description
If dark matter is axions that solve the strong CP problem and the symmetry breaking of the axion field happens after inflation, there exists the possibility that the axions are clumped into asteroid sized objects called miniclusters. But these objects formed in the early universe is likely disrupted by the tidal forces and stellar interaction at late times, causing the local dark matter density fluctuate. Using semi-analytic methods we present a realistic model of the local dark matter density that is directly relevant for direct detection probes of these QCD axions, such as haloscopes.
