Description
Dual-phase xenon time projection chambers are the leading technology in the search for WIMP dark matter. The LUX- ZEPLIN (LZ) experiment is the largest of its kind currently operating, deploying a 7 tonne liquid xenon active volume and two veto subsystems deep underground at the Sanford Underground Research Facility in Lead, South Dakota, USA. LZ currently boasts world-leading constraints on dark matter above 5 GeV/c$^2$, as well as the world’s most statistically significant observation (at 4.5 $\sigma$ significance) of solar $^8$B coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CE$\nu$NS). This talk presents the latest results from the LZ experiment, with a particular focus on the recent low-threshold search for low mass WIMPs and solar $^8$B CE$\nu$NS.
