Description
Cryogenic detectors are of great interest to search for the elusive signal induced by a light dark matter particle impinging inside a target material. Unfortunately, every cryogenic experiment with a very low energy threshold is limited by a low-energy excess background known as LEE whose origin is not totally understood to this date. The proposal of the TESSERACT collaboration is to bring multiple cryogenic detectors, with LEE rejection capabilities, in the same underground experimental space. The complementarity of targets and technologies will allow for a better understanding of backgrounds and systematics as well as providing a way to confirm any potential future detection. The proposed talk will cover the experimental setup at LSM, the detector technologies, and the preliminary science potential of TESSERACT.
