With new cosmic microwave background experiments probing polarization, lensing, and scattering at unprecedented precision, several areas of CMB science are only just beginning. I will review recent developments and next steps in CMB science, focusing on efforts to understand the particle content of our universe, investigate claimed tensions in our standard cosmological model, and constrain the physics of the early universe.
