Description
In recent years there has been a very significant increase in public knowledge and use of AI through Large Language models such as ChatGPT and CoPilot. These are based on the more generalised technology of Machine Learning (ML), Neural Networks (NNs)  and GPUs. I present a brief overview of how GPUs are different to CPUs and applications where GPUs, NNs and ML could bring improvements, as well as a quick look at LLMs and Generative AI. I will also give a summary of the hardware and facilities that are available to the group for use in developing GPU-based solutions.
