Description
A covariant reformulation of Einstein gravity in terms of an auxiliary frame field renders the canonical Noether current for translations tensorial, and thereby admits a local covariant interpretation of gravitational-wave energy. For both weak spin-2 waves and exact plane waves, we recover the expected energy in a rigid detector frame, but zero energy in the canonical frame co-moving with the wave.
The argument is simple enough to look like textbook material. Yet, to the best of our knowledge, this poster presents its first explicit appearance.
