Open Educational Resources (OER) are freely available teaching materials which can be used by instructors and their students to supplement or replace traditional large publisher textbooks and other resources. This can reduce cost, and increase accessibility, to the resources required for students in university physics courses. As introductory physics course enrollment grew over the past...

Concept inventories like the FCI or the BEMA have been valuable tools in studying how well students understand physics concepts, mostly at the introductory level. A few have been created for more advanced topics including quantum mechanics, but work on creating a concept inventory on quantum information has started only recently.
We will describe how we are developing our concept inventory,...

The talk will introduce a new initiative co-designed in consultation with our core partners, TRIUMF and Cenovus, and funded by the NSERC Chairs in Inclusion in Science and Engineering program and Cenovus Energy. The program explores STEM career pathways and provides curriculum-aligned resources for educators, while linking students to diverse role models - particularly those from...

The difference between quantum and classical algorithms can be difficult for students to understand, especially when problems being tackled seem abstract and efficiency scaling factors obscure realistic implementation overheads. For introductions and informal education, games provide a way for learners to develop intuition for physical and mathematical concepts by role-playing. We will present...
