Description

After working on the discovery of the Higgs boson, former Oxford particle physicist Gemma Martynwood decided to leave academia behind to become a patent attorney, working on a diverse range of technology, from simple mechanical inventions to AI and machine learning, via display devices and quantum technology. She will provide insight into careers in intellectual property, at the intersection of science and the law, and discuss considerations around patenting, including a brief overview of the patent process and how to identify patentable inventions.
