21st European Fusion Theory Conference

Dear colleagues,

We are happy to announce that the 21st edition of the European Fusion Theory Conference will be held in Aix-en-Provence, France, between 23rd and 26th September 2025.  The conference will be organized by the Institut de Recherche sur la Fusion par confinement Magnétique in CEA.

The conference programme will consist of invited lectures, oral contributions and poster contributions. The main topics covered are:

Fusion devices: tokamaks, stellarators, reversed-field pinches, laser-induced ignition and new concepts

Macro-instabilities, operational limits and disruptions

Plasma confinement, neoclassical and turbulent plasma transport

Optimization of magnetic confinement devices and 3D magnetic field effects

Burning plasmas and fast particles

Heating, current drive, and wave particle interactions

Edge and scrape-off layer/divertor physics

Experimental validation of theoretical models and diagnostics development

Computational plasma physics

Basic plasma theory

Please consult the website:  https://indico.global/event/13788/

The conference proceedings will be published in a special collection of the Journal of Plasma Physics (Cambrige University Press). A young outstanding  participant will be selected and given the opportunity to be the author for the proceedings’  forward and take part in the editorial process.

We look forward to welcoming you in Aix-en-Provence!
