The Centre for Space Research (CSR) at North-West University (NWU) is proud to host the 2025 South African Gravity Society (SAGS2025) conference at the unique and inspiring Stonehenge in Parys, from 18-21 November 2025. This will be a fully in-person event, offering a rich environment for collaboration and discussion. We welcome contributions from all areas of gravitational physics, including theoretical, computational, mathematical, observational, and experimental research. The scope of the conference will encompass the latest developments in:
- General Relativity and Gravitation
- Cosmology
- Astrophysics
- And related fields
We especially encourage postgraduate students to attend and present their research. SAGS2025 provides an excellent platform for emerging researchers to engage with the broader scientific community. The conference will be held at the Stonehenge River Lodge on the banks of the Vaal River, nestled within the Vredefort Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This serene and picturesque setting offers a unique backdrop for stimulating scientific exchange. Parys is conveniently located approximately 120 km from O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg and about 50 km from NWU's Potchefstroom Campus, making it accessible for both our national and international delegates. Limited financial support will be available for postgraduate students. To apply for support, please indicate your interest during the registration process and email a letter of motivation to the organisers at sagsconf2025@gmail.com. Note that only students with accepted abstracts for oral presentations will be considered for financial support.
