Description
Big data is no longer the future; it is the present. Scientists, particularly in fields like astronomy and astrophysics, are facing a massive volume of data that is indispensable for their research. In this context, the Laboratório Interinstitucional de e-Astronomia (LIneA) - Brazil - proposed a series of mini-courses in 2024 aimed at a broad audience, including both specialists and the general public.
The goals of this initiative were:
To offer a comprehensive overview of the fundamental concepts and pivotal tools that define the field of data science.
To develop talent capable of addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by large-scale data.
To introduce LIneA's scientific platforms, such as the Jupyter Hub, to a wider public.
The courses are available online on LIneA’s official YouTube channel, "LIneA Divulgação" (@linea_org). All supporting materials can be accessed at: https://classroom.google.com/c/NDkzMTA0MzEyODA1?cjc=kl5jjnd
