Description
I will review recent development of Monte Carlo event generators, and in particualr their core, parton shower, component. Several improvements on the accuracy of these algorithms, and their relation to and use in analytic resummation, have been developed and start to impact the design of phenomenological models as well as pave the way to the inclusion of electroweak and beyond the Standard Model effects. I will also summarize recent events and developments at the University of Graz.
