信州大学ではMoodleを全学展開しているが，総合大学であり学部毎に運用方法が異なることから，学部毎のサイトを用意している．また，学務情報システムと連携して，毎年度，新しいコースを作成している．このため，毎年度，学部の数だけの新しいサイトを作成し，サイト毎にその年度に開講するコースの作成を行っている．また，年度をまたいで運用するコースを管理するサイトもある．
さらに，LTSバージョンを使用するポリシーで運用していることから，4月の段階でのLTSバージョンをインストールする必要がある．前述のように，年度毎にサイトを作成することから，新規に作成する場合には問題ないが，年度をまたいで運用するサイトについてはバージョンを行う必要がある．
