Light-cone color charge correlators in the proton and initial conditions for small-x evolution

Description

I will present recent work where we attempt to construct a light-cone wave function of the proton for the regime of moderately small x, and semi-hard parton transverse momenta. We start from a non-perturbative three-quark model which is constrained by empirical knowledge of the large-x structure of the proton. To extend to smaller x and higher transverse momentum, we add a gluon in light-cone perturbation theory. Using this LC wave function we compute correlators of two and three color charge operators. These determine the dipole scattering amplitude at moderately small x which can used as initial condition for small-x QCD evolution, to add additional soft gluons to the proton state.
