Description

Discussion regarding the physics and detector design for the Forward Physics Facility at the LHC.

MVD went through some technical and programmatic progress in the last couple of months.

-- Hooman: what is the 413b threshold ? It is nominally $50M, but it is negotiated between a national lab and the DOE.

Sebastian Trojanowski discussed tridents.

Questions

---  Can we add magnetic fields to measure  the lower energy muon better.

short answer: yes, either to the liquid argon or to the muon tagger. But we need to now think about FPF space.

---  Is angular resolution of ~ 10 mrad possible

short answer: yes, but it might depend on the orientation of the event.  The separation of the two muons might be better in the drift plane.

--- Is this physics going to determine the level of muon veto efficiency needed ?  Possibly.

--- Can we explore the  Mu+E channels more ?
