Beltrami parametrization and a better visualisation of various aspects of gravity and supergravity
by
The recently introduced Beltrami parametrization of four dimensional metrics gives new hints for visualising various aspects of RG. It also sheds new light for the construction of topological gravity and therefore of supergravity. A striking feature is that both the physical graviton and gravitino degrees of freedom can be identified as a welldefined subset of the fundamental “Beltrami fields" that define the dimensional Beltrami parametrization for the metric and the Rarita-Schwhinger field, each one having its own specificity. Moreover the study of the most important gravitational Brown York boundary effects that solve the bulk gravity energy paradox become quite transparent when one uses the Beltrami parametrization. The later also makes very natural the use of the Bond-Sachs coordinates near the celestial sphere when the four-manifold is asymptotically flat.
