HEP Weekly Seminar: Exotic collider probes of dark matter: Dr. Giovanna Cottin (Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez)

America/Santiago
Description
Abstract:
Several models of new physics beyond the Standard Model predict the existence of massive, long-lived particles (LLPs) with macroscopic decay lengths. There is a timely and growing amount of efforts of the particle physics community to develop a systematic program at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and future colliders to search for such particles. In this talk, I will discuss - with a focus on reinterpretation challenges of ongoing LLP experimental analyses - how looking for a collider signature of a disappearing charged track at the LHC, and a future 100 TeV collider, may serve as probe of a real triplet scalar dark matter model.
