Description

In light of the MiniBooNE anomaly, which exhibits a puzzling asymmetry in its excess events across the neutrino and antineutrino modes, and across the beam-target and beam-dump modes, I will motivate the searches for long-lived scalar particles and their associated gauge sector. These searches may be undertaken at the neutrino frontier experiments in order to test this solution to the MiniBooNE puzzle. For example, one search strategy may exist at GeV-scale proton beam facilities, such as COHERENT, CCM, and JSNS2, and complimentary strategies exist at higher energy environments such as the DUNE near detector complex.
