Description
We have revisited Chandrasekhar limit calculation for zero magnetic field case and explored its finite magnetic field extension. We have considered the quantum aspect of magnetic field for which the perpendicular momentum components (with respect to the direction of magnetic field) are quantized. Due to magnetic field, an anisotropic nature in thermodynamic quantities like pressure is expected. We have obtained magnetic field dependent pressure of degenerate electron gas along parallel and perpendicular directions for non-relativistic, ultra-relativistic and relativistic cases. Making balance between the outward degenerate pressure and inwards gravity pressure, our aim is to find mass-radius (M-R) curves for different magnetic fields. We have found M-R relations for Lowest Landau level approximation, although the calculations for higher Landau level contribution is under progress.
