Description

In the context of the formation of quark gluon plasma, whether the anisotropic flow in small collision system has the same underlying origin as that of the heavy-ions continues to be a matter of debate. Although the measurements of two and multi-particle correlations apparently suggest that azimuthal anisotropy in small systems is a consequence of collective excitation driven by the initial spatial asymmetry, the effects originating from few particle correlations (non-flow), however, can not be completely ruled out. In-fact, it has been realized that non-flow effects can bias these measurements in such a way that can fake the signatures of collective dynamics even if it is absent.
In this work, we explore such biases in pp collisions by sampling jet-enriched event samples simulated from Pythia8 event generator with multiple parton interaction (MPI) enabled. We will present results for n-particle (n >= 2) cumulants as a function of charge particle multiplicity for different event categories ranging from "jetty" to isotropic and show a model dependent quantification of bias introduced by jet or jet-like non-flow effects.
