The PanScales collabortation has recently demonstrated that it is possible to design parton shower algorithms that are proven to be NNLL accurate for global event-shape observables. However, to claim a fully NNLL-accurate shower algorithm, several additional ingredients are needed. One key missing element is the NNLL description of observables sensitive to collinear splittings, such as fragmentation functions or differential measurements of small-R jets. This talk will discuss recent progress towards improving parton-shower algorithms to describe also these observables at NNLL accuracy.
