I discuss linear power corrections to the electroweak production of
top quarks using renormalon calculus. I show how these corrections
can be computed using the Low-Burnett-Kroll theorem, which provides
the first subleading term to the soft-limit expansion of the
real-emission amplitude. I show that the linear power corrections
cancel in the total cross section for arbitrary processes of
single top production type, provided the cross section is expressed
in terms of a short-distance mass. A universal formula for the linear
power corrections to kinematic distributions involving the
top quark momentum is also given.
