Description
In recent years resummation has become an integral part of precision studies at colliders. It is essential in order to compare the theoretical predictions to experimental data to extract fundamental quantities like coupling and masses and to correctly describe the observables at colliders. In turn, they also provide knowledge on the subtraction terms needed in the fixed order computation by studying the soft and collinear limits of the matrix elements. Resummation can be conveniently performed using the Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) where one organizes the hard, soft, and collinear radiations into different perturbative functions. In this talk, I will discuss the recent progress in the perturbative computations of the ingredients required to perform resummation up to NNLL' accuracy with a particular focus on the universal collinear functions.
These ingredients will be essential to make optimal use of current and upcoming LHC data by studying collider observables at high precision.
