The evaluation of the matrix-element is the core of many type of theoretical prediction/input: differential cross-section, LO/NLO/.. prediction, decay, re-weighitng,... It is also one of the main limiting factor in term of speed of the computation. Speeding up such calculation requires to use the available hardware as much as possible.
In this talk, i will present some recent, and in progress, developments allowing madgraph to run faster on both cpu and gpu architecture. For that I will have first to give a basic introduction on what is a cpu and what is gpu and their limitation. I will then move to a speed contest between various hardware and various language implementation.
Are you interested to know what is the winning strategy and the future of Madgraph?
