Description

Recent years and months have seen the emergence of differential N3LO QCD calculations for key scattering processes at the Large Hadron Collider -- based also on progress for differential NNLO calculations of jetty processes. The latter can be crucial to model Standard Model backgrounds, and thus for indirect searches for new physics, and should be available as event generators. An interesting way to achieve this is by matching N3LO calculations to parton showers. I will discuss conditions to claim N3LO+PS accuracy, a possible scheme based on unitarity, and how to construct a closure test.
