Description

Perturbative calculations for collider observables often suffer from large logarithmic corrections associated with soft and collinear QCD radiation. The underlying dynamics can be phrased in terms of an effective-field-theory language, which was developed around 20 years ago in the context of charmless B-meson decays. Resummations in Soft-Collinear Effective Theory require the evaluation of observable-dependent soft, jet and beam functions, which were always computed on a case-by-case basis in the past. In my talk I will present an automated framework for the calculation of soft functions and its implementation in the public code SoftSERVE. The code has been used the extend the resummations  for e+e- angularity distributions and the soft-drop groomed jet mass to higher logarithmic accuracy, and it in addition provides the couterterms for modern NNLO subtraction techniques.
