Description
I will review properties of maximally extended N=8 supergravity, with special emphasis on the finite and infinite dimensional exceptional duality symmetries underlying this theory. I will also discuss the implications of its possible UV finiteness as well as our recent work trying to link the spin-1/2
fermions of this theory to those of the Standard Model.
