Description
Quantum key distribution using satellites will enable highly secure communications over large, global distances. While the science and technology for satellite QKD is well established, and several more satellite missions in preparation, commercially viable satellite QKD remains a major challenge, as all security aspects including possible information leakage and other side channels must be explored and mitigated. We will describe the ongoing efforts by QEYNet to identify and verify the security of a QKD payload, and give an overview of preparations for an upcoming demonstration satellite mission to be launched next year.
