Description

The first annual ScotDIST research conference will be held in the School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Glasgow, on Wednesday 1st August 2018 with arrivals from 10.30am for an 11am start.

This event is a celebration of the diverse physics & data science work begun by the network's students and staff during the first year of CDT operation. All supported students and supervisors are asked to attend, and students are expected to give a 10 min informal talk on their research (or whatever they have found most interesting in this first year of studies.)

Poster boards will also be available for any students who wish to present their summer school poster to a new audience: you're encouraged to do so!

In addition, we are assembling a programme of industry speakers and AI experts to underpin the commercial and data-science fundamentals aspects of the CDT. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

The conference will take place in Lecture Theatre 312 of the Kelvin Building on the UofG main (Gilmorehill) campus; see here for a map.
