Description

FCC and LHC layout

The Future Circular Collider (FCC) is the CERN's proposed next-generation facility that will probe the Higgs boson and electroweak interactions with unprecedented precision. Following the completion of the FCC Feasibility Study in 2025, the 2026 update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics identified the FCC-ee as the preferred flagship project of CERN, with a final decision expected by 2028. This symposium reviews the FCC physics program and the status of accelerator and detector R&D, highlights Korean contributions such as dual-readout calorimetry and muon detector, and discusses strategies for Korean participation and international collaboration in the FCC era.
