Seminar

Partial wave unitarity with long-range interactions

by Ryan Daniel Plestid (CERN)

Australia/Sydney
Description

If you have ever studied non-relativistic scattering theory, you know the Coulomb potential is tricky. In this talk I will explain how to lift lessons from the NR-limit to general quantum field theories that include a 1/r potential at long distances. These long-range effects violated basic assumptions of standard scattering theory but can be "fixed up" and have a nice EFT interpretation.
