Description
Light scalars are a well-motivated extension of the Standard Model and can mediate new interactions between matter at microscopic and mesoscopic distances. Inspired by proposals to test the quantum nature of gravity through gravitationally induced entanglement, we propose searching for such interactions using two adjacent matter-wave interferometers. Rather than relying on conventional force measurements, this approach probes the new interaction through the relative phase it imprints on the superposed states, which in turn generates quantum correlations between the two interferometers. We outline the parameter space such an experiment could access and discuss the competing requirements on interaction strength, coherence time, and spatial superposition size.
