Description

This tutorial will provide a practical introduction to the preparation of observing material for the Large Binocular Telescope (LBT), with a focus on the use of the Observing Tool (OT; https://scienceops.lbto.org/script-preparation ) and the generation of observing scripts for the MODS, LUCI, and LBC instruments.

The course will cover imaging, long-slit, and multi-object spectroscopy observations, including target acquisition, guide-star selection, observing constraints, calibrations, and preparation of finding charts and README files.

Through hands-on examples based on the official LBT documentation and OT libraries, participants will learn how to prepare complete observing scripts following the current LBT operational requirements.
