Description
Supernova remnants are considered important candidates for the acceleration of Galactic cosmic rays and possible sites where particles can be accelerated up to PeV energies, the so-called PeVatrons. Investigating the origin of their high-energy emission is therefore essential for understanding the particle acceleration mechanisms operating in these objects. In this work, we present a multi-wavelength study of the supernova remnant HESS J1731−347 (G353.6−0.7), combining radio, X-ray, and gamma-ray observations. A new analysis of Fermi Large Area Telescope (Fermi-LAT) data was performed to investigate the spectral and morphological properties of the emission in the region, including possible contributions from nearby sources and structures. The spectral energy distribution was subsequently modeled with the Naima package, considering leptonic and lepto-hadronic scenarios for the observed emission. We will present the results of the gamma-ray analysis, the main outcomes of the multi-wavelength modeling, and a discussion of the possible leptonic and hadronic contributions to the emission from HESS J1731−347 and their implications for particle acceleration in the remnant.
