Description

Abstract:

While hadron spectroscopy, hadron structure, heavy-ion physics, and nuclear physics are often pursued by separate communities, many of their central questions originate from the same underlying problem: the emergence of hadronic matter from QCD. FAIR offers a unique opportunity to bring these perspectives together through a broad program of hadron-induced, nuclear, and heavy-ion experiments. In this talk, I will discuss recent efforts to develop a coherent hadron-physics roadmap for FAIR, focusing on opportunities in spectroscopy, hadron interactions, hyperon and strange-hadron physics, and the study of strongly interacting matter.
