Trigger systems are one of the crucial aspects in high energy particle physics experiments allowing data taking with extremely high input data rates. The LHCb experiment at CERN must cope with the 30 million proton-proton bunches collision per second of the LHC, corresponding to about 4 TB of input data per second. The seminar will explain how data is processed and filtered real-time by the LHCb full-software trigger system. In particular, it will focus on its first stage optimised for high throughput, exploiting GPUs.
