Dr. Nguyen Kien Cuong
Dr. Nguyen Kien Cuong is the Vice Director of the Nuclear Research Institute (NRI) under the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM). He earned his Ph.D. in Atomic and Nuclear Physics in 2024, specializing in reactor physics, thermal-hydraulics, and safety analysis. With over 25 years of experience starting as a reactor operator in 1997, he has become a leading expert in the management and safe operation of the Dalat Nuclear Research Reactor (DNRR). His research focuses on core conversion, refueling calculations, and enhancing radioisotope production, notably Iodine-131. He plays a pivotal role in planning Vietnam’s nuclear infrastructure and reactor decommissioning strategies.
