Description

Measurements of the internal structure of jets in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=13~\mathrm{TeV}$ provide detailed tests of jet fragmentation modelling. We will present results using data recorded by the CMS detector during the Run 2 data-taking period to evaluate the performance of colour reconnection and hadronisation models implemented in Monte Carlo event generators. These non-perturbative processes play a central role in shaping the properties of jets. The measurements are compared with predictions from several generator tunes and hadronisation models, providing experimental input for improving the phenomenological description of jet formation.
