ACME - RAVEN

Europe/Paris
Samuele Ronchini (Gran Sasso Science Institute)
Description

This tutorial will provide an introduction to RAVEN, a Python package designed to search for and analyze coincidences between gravitational-wave candidates and external triggers, such as gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). Participants will learn about sub-threshold GRB-GW searches and statistical methods to assess the significance of possible joint candidates. The tutorial will also cover how to extract basic information from localization maps, manipulate multiple skymap objects, and compute overlaps using tools from both ligo.skymap and RAVEN.
