Description
Excited nucleon states ($N^*$ and $\Delta$ resonances) provide a unique window into the non-perturbative regime of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) and the structure of baryons. Their production in proton proton collisions offers valuable constraints on resonance properties and reaction dynamics, while also providing essential reference data for the interpretation of heavy-ion collisions.
In this contribution, the exclusive reactions $pp\rightarrow NN\pi$ is investigated at $\sqrt{s}=3.47$ GeV using data collected with the High Acceptance Di-Electron Spectrometer (HADES) at GSI Darmstadt in February 2022. The analysis aims to determine the coupling strengths of intermediate $N^*$ and $\Delta$ resonances to the final state. Preliminary results are compared with fits obtained using the Jülich-Bonn (JüBo) dynamical coupled-channel model as well as transport-model calculations. We further discuss the extension of the analysis framework to other exclusive final states, including channels with strangeness production.
