Description

Light-front holography provides a semiclassical approximation to QCD in the chiral limit. In this framework, the light-front Schr\"odinger equation governing the pion's internal transverse dynamics maps onto the scalar-field equation in five-dimensional soft-wall anti-de Sitter spacetime ($AdS_5$), correctly predicting a massless pion. To account for the physical pion mass, longitudinal dynamics can be incorporated through the Li–Vary (LV) equation. Here, we demonstrate that the LV equation emerges from the UV limit of the same $AdS_5$ scalar-field equation whose IR limit underlies the original holographic mapping. This UV-IR mapping motivates a new holographic pion wavefunction that unifies longitudinal and transverse dynamics within a single AdS framework and yields an excellent description of pion observables.
