Description

The formalism of Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs) provides a set of powerful tools to investigate nucleon structure. In particular, it allows us to describe the nucleon as an extended object and provides access to the QCD energy-momentum tensor. The latter enables the evaluation of the orbital angular momentum contribution to the nucleon spin through Ji’s sum rule, and helps us understand the distribution of mechanical forces inside the nucleon.

In my talk, I will present a new framework designed for the extraction of GPD information, along with the first related results. This framework is part of an open-source software environment dedicated to GPD physics, consisting of the PARTONS project, an open database to store experimental and lattice results, and the EpIC Monte Carlo generator. The physics results presented will be based on global data for deeply virtual and timelike Compton scattering.
