Description

I will give an overview of recent progress with functional methods. This includes solutions of covariant five- and six-body equations to describe multiparticle systems. The basis of these calculations are permutation-group tools that allow one to construct efficient approximations by singling out the dominant momentum dependencies in the wave functions. The primary applications in QCD so far are the ‚LHCb pentaquarks‘ made of charm and anticharm with three light or strange valence quarks. When solving their five-body equation, such systems dynamically rearrange into meson-baryon components, but contributions from color-non-singlet clusters are also present and can be quantified.
