Dr. Vázquez-Jáuregui joined the Institute of Physics at UNAM in 2015. He has contributed to several international dark matter experiments located at SNOLAB in Canada (PICO, DEAP, SBC) and at LNGS in Italy (BULLKID-DM), leading research groups on specific aspects such as detector development, simulations, and background studies. He has also worked in neutrino physics, particularly on coherent elastic neutrino–nucleus scattering (CEvNS) and reactor neutrino detection. He is currently a full-time researcher at UNAM, where he coordinates projects in neutrino and dark matter physics and develops instrumentation for low-background experiments. His research group at UNAM actively participates in the physical interpretation of the results, with a focus on phenomenology.
