Dr. León Vargas has worked in several experiments at CERN, and since 2013 his research focuses in astroparticle physics. He has developed software and hardware for high-energy physics experiments. He is currently a member of the HAWC collaboration, where he uses the gamma-ray observatory to pursue non-conventional goals, such as characterizing the flux of near horizontal muons and the search for Earth-skimming neutrinos.
