Saclay/Mainz interface meeting 23/7/25

Clarified at the meeting or since:
- vacuum seal between chapeau and vacuum chamber : evacuate trapped air from sealing channel in the outer flange of the chapeau

- membrane flange : screws connecting air and vacuum -> replace by non-throughgoing screws

- nuts for the rails inside the vacuum chamber : non-magnetic material (titanium; polymer possible?) Ensure nut shape is correct before ordering.

- handling tools (small cranes, fenwicks): Saclay lists its requirements for the installation; MESA workshop will make them available

- beam tube extension
- any welding should be made non-magnetic (cf. beamtube flange). Use non-magnetic welding metal

- upstream end of beamtube extension : connection with accelerator handled by MESA

Still open issues:
- update MESA step file on seafile

- vacuum chamber : please provide manufacturing drawings (meeting between Boris and NTG next week)

- beam tube extension
- material : stainless steel? Aluminum? (-> activation)

- which magnetic permeability tolerance (<1.1?)

- percentage of antimony in shielding rings? check forward shielding rings (which use antimony too), and replicate.

- Chapeau integration:
- distance between chamber and wall?

- can the structure on the wall be dismounted?

- enlarge width between support structures near hall entrance, for access

- vacuum seal between chapeau and vacuum chamber : radiation hardness specifications?
