17:05 → 17:25 Search for soft displaced vertices at CMS

Various long lived particles (LLP) searches are carried out by researchers at the CMS experiment. One of the possible decay signatures of these LLPs is a displaced vertex with soft tracks. I will introduce the topic within the context of our analysis and show how one can target and search for such events in the presence of immense background.
