Proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider provide an ideal opportunity to probe the running of the strong coupling alpha_s. Investigating the production of jets with large transverse momenta, the scale dependence of alpha_s can be tested over a wide range up to the yet unexplored multi-TeV regime. Moreover, significant advances in theory and experimental techniques enable more precise determinations of the strong coupling at the mass of the Z boson, alpha_s(M_Z), than anticipated. Including ideas for novel observables a plethora of new results have appeared in the last two years. I will try to give an overview of these latest results with an emphasis on a few selected
topics.
