Studying reactor neutrino CEVNS with the RICOCHET experiment

by Nicolas MARTINI (IP2I)

Australia/Sydney
Description

The study of the Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering (CEVNS), an interaction predicted in 1973 and first observed by the COHERENT collaboration in 2017 at the Oak Ridge Spallation Neutron Source, is of great importance for future dark matter direct detection experiments and provides an interesting window for potential Beyond Standard Model physics. CEVNS produced by reactor neutrinos is particularly interesting due to their low energy spectrum, but this same characteristic creates a great challenge, and it stil remains undetected to this day.
In this talk, I will introduce the physics of reactor neutrino CEVNS and the strategy of the RICOCHET collaboration to obtain a precise measurement of this interaction. Finally, I will also discuss the current status of the RICOCHET experiment, as it is undergoing its commissioning phase.
